Business Journal: TBar And Fusion Cafe, Sac City Brews, Sac Yard Tap House, Wine Symposium — Capital Public Radio

The Sacramento area tap house scene continues to get more crowded. Sorich says two new beer places have opened: Sac City Brews in Tahoe Park and Sac Yard Community Tap House in East Sacramento.

“Both of these places are designed as community gathering places with a family-friendly vibe,” says Sorich. “These new businesses don’t brew beer, but instead they serve beers from several existing brewers.”

SacYard Community Tap House Opens in East Sac — Fox40

Martina is out in East Sacramento checking out SacYard Community Tap House. 

Sac Yard will be in a “soft opening” period until the weekend of February 9. There will be a number of grand opening events that weekend including a ribbon cutting on Saturday, February 10.

With so many regional breweries, Sacramentans deserve more places to gather and drink that locally crafted beer. At least, that’s the reasoning behind SacYard Community Tap House (1725 33rd Street), a watering hole that ought to open in East Sacramento in late January with plans to carry 24 taps of regional brews, according to one of the owners, Melody Thebeau.

“We’re going to have a strong representation of IPAs, but we want to cover a variety of palates,” she said, adding that the stouts stocked during the winter opening will likely transition to ales that go down a bit easier in the warmer weather.

Last year, we told you about SacYard Community Tap House, a new business planned at 1725 33rd St. in East Sacramento. The business starts its soft opening today, beginning at 3 p.m. Dan and Melody Thebeau are the primary owners of Sac Yard, which is on the site of a former automotive garage. It will offer 24 rotating beers, and is expected to feature food trucks, as well as some food offerings from local grocers and delis.
